The wood for Firesprite Products is sourced from forests that are carefully managed, and there is less waste in the production of ply as opposed to the use of solid wood. As well as ply lending heat resistance to the lamps, the layers enhance the ornate nature of the designs.
The products are cut using a fretsaw, and then using layers of varnish, (each layer being individually polished) the finished wood has a lustrous texture. The paints and varnishes used by Firesprite are water based, and comply with EN71, which is the trading standard of ‘safe for children’.
The backing material on the Lamps is organic where possible and the paper is hand made and acid free.
My dream is that my products enhance and enrich all the lives that they touch; that they highlight the awe in which I hold this planet and the people who take care of it. And, importantly, that I can bring the hedgerows, the oceans, the desert, and the forest in to our modern and busy lives.

Firesprite came into being after having the privilege of growing up and living in some of the most beautiful places on the planet. I have lived many lives and it was an amalgamation of these life skills and experiences that took the dream of a hobby into the realm of the market place. It also took a lot of faith, patience, pride and love from my young family and business manager.
